The admission for PSG College of Technology is based on HSC Exam (Tamil Nadu State Board Exams). moreover one can also get management seat and the story of that is different. I studied Textile Technology and for my course 195/200 is required. And this also varies depends on the reservation category. Regarding the fees structure, since PSG College of Technology is a government aided college, it follows two systems for merit students (ie. the student admitted through University Counselling). Portion of seat is Government Aided* and the later half is Self Supporting. For Government aided students fees will be around Rs. 15000/ year and for self supporting students it will be around Rs.60000/ year. *few departments don't have government aided seat allocation.
Read Full ReviewSince I acted as placement representative of my batch, I hope I can provide some useful insights. Internship program in our college is not up to the mark. Students have to put their own efforts to get internship. Lucky in my department (ie. Textile Technology) faculty support for students to get placement / internship is very high. Regarding Placements one can assure that average student with decent skills will surely be placed in a good company. You can find companies visiting our campus every day in a year. Again the average package/ highest package depends on the department you are studying. For my department, placement scenario during 2016-2017 academic year is 100% with average package of Rs.300000/ year.
Fees submission is common, you can pay through cash / demand draft/ online transaction which ever is convenient. Since PSG Tech have good rankings, banks wont even hesitate to issue loans to the students. Since our college is Government Aided, merit students can avail all the eligible government scholarships. Moreover one can avail alumni scholarship based on the criteria.
Usually class starts by 8.30 am and ends up by 4.20 pm. In between 1.45 hrs interval break will be there. Mostly no c;asses on weekends!! But for Sandwich courses timings are completely different better one can discuss this with some respective alum. Faculty support will be always there but to gain practical knowledge you have to put your 100% efforts.
Our college library is one of the biggest ones. you can find all sort of reference book, text books, journals over there. 24 hour computer facilities are enabled. WiFi connections are there but the speed wont be up to the expectation. College had dedicated sports ground, two well furnished indoor basketball courts, badminton courts and every sport have own coaches.
Hostel for boys is segregated based on the years. First year students will be allotted to particular hostel block (mostly G1 Hostel). 2,3,4,5,6 seaters rooms are available. I can rate its infra as 7.5 out of 10 point scale. Food is decent and non-veg are available for 3 days a week.
