The Smt. SK Somaiya Junior College of Education is the institute that was established in the year 1962 with the prime objective of making women self-reliant and self- confident. The mission of the Institute is to lead future primary teachers in India and help them become Innovative, Compassionate, resourceful and tech savvy. The mission is to help them become friend, philosopher and guide to the future citizens of India.

- Facilities: The College offers its students number of facilities in helping them grows and develop. Some of which include a well-stocked and resourceful library of more than 15000 books. The college also has a well-built library equipped with all latest equipment and tools. The college also has psychological labs to impart training to the teachers in the field of psychology. The teachers are also given hands-on experience working on computers in the well-connected lab with 25 computers. The college also has sports facilities with number of indoor and outdoor games. In addition to this the college also conducts seminars and workshops for the teachers in the multipurpose hall equipped with LCD.
- Placement: Most of the colleges, as well as schools, send vacancies to the college which in turn helps the newly trained teachers get job according to their requirements. This information is regularly updated on the notice board. Moreover, the students are taught to help give children interviews and demonstration lessons so that they can be well placed in the field of education.
