The SGGS Khalsa College, Hoshiarpur, Punjab has been long recognized as the premier Post Graduate, Multi Faculty, co-educational college in the relatively backward district of Hoshiarpur. The college started its journey of excellence even before the historic partition of India into India and Pakistan in the year 1946. The philanthropic self of Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji Kaharpuri conceived the idea of making an educational institution that serves the need of quality education in the rural and backward area of its existence. It was an effort to bring the general mass of Punjab into the classroom as not many, at that time, could afford to go to colleges in the city. The Sikh Educational Council, the bearer of this reputable and historic institution strives with the zeal of providing higher education to the boys and girls in general and particularly belonging to the rural, backward and Kandi areas. The college packs a punch when it comes to modern amenities, the fully furnished computer lab, well-stocked library, state of the art laboratories, interactive classrooms and gigantic conference halls ensure that learning is a child’s play.
