Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research, Pune (MAEER) was founded in June 1983 with the collective efforts of eminent academicians, scientists, engineers, philosophers, thinkers and other professionals.
Over a period of 28 years, it has acquired a proud name for itself in imparting engineering education at national and international level.
MAEER'S Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), established in 1983, is today amongst the top engineering colleges in India. The news magazine 'Outlook' has ranked MIT Pune as 1st in Maharashtra & 11th in India amongst the finest Private Engineering Colleges.
MIT is affiliated to the University of Pune and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The undergraduate engineering programs of the Institute are accredited for a period of three years by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.
MIT, Pune Institutes offer four year degree courses in various branches of engineering and post graduate courses in select areas. Admission to all courses is based on merit as per rules and norms laid down by the Director Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State.
Consistent efforts by the management, faculty members and quality of students have resulted in signing of 21 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MNCs that provide great value addition to the students. Several student centric activities are organized as a part of these MOUs.
MIT lays emphasis on enhancing overall personality of students along with academic curriculum. So, the college recognizes various events & sports meet in order to decrease the academic pressure of students throughout the year.
Government Merit Scholarships :
Meritorious students of MIT continue to get their National Merit and other Government Scholarships. Needy and poor deserving students are given all possible help in the form of books and freeships and concession in fees. Full concession in tuition fees will be given to the deserving Backward Class Students belonging to S.C., N.T., S.T., and V.J.N.T. classes. |

Saurabh- Saurabh magazine is the annual college magazine of Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune. As regards Saurabh has always stood as a medium for the students of MIT to render their talents in the forms of writing, art, design or painting to the larger college audience. |

What is the placement ratio of this institute ?
Placements & job opportunities for the Comp, IT, E&TC departments are excellent. Almost all eligible students are placed with good salary package. For the mechanical departments, the placements are not as good. The number of students recruited by the core companies is quite low. Around one third of the students were placed last year.
