About College

The oldest management institution of Pune, IMDR, Institute of Management Development and Research, Pune was founded in May, 1974 as one of the constituent part of the Deccan Education Society (DES) in. The DES itself was established in 1884 by the Indian freedom struggle stalwarts like Agarkar and Tilakand was later built by well- known personalities of the era, like Gopal Krishna Gokhale and DhondoKeshavKarve.

• IMDR was recognized as a research institute on no grant basis by the Government of Maharashtra on 3rdMarch 1987.
• The campus spread over 24,000 sq. feet provides range of facilities to its students ranging from Classrooms, Tutorial room, Library, Computer Centre, an Auditorium & an administrative block.
• IMDR currently offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a two year full time programme.

Famous Courses

IMDR currently offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a two year full time programme with the following key features:

• Course divided into 4 semesters, each of approximately 16 weeks
• Classes scheduled usually from 9 am to 5 pm
• First two semesters followed by a 8 weeks internship in a business organisation
• Based on the Instructional Systems Design Methodology

IMDR's PGDM programme has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) with an intake of 120 students.

International Tie-Ups

IMDR has entered into international tie-ups with ESSCA (EcoleSupereiur Des Sciences CommercialesD’Angers) also known as ESSCA Graduate School of Management, so that its students can understand the international business scenario as well.

The institute focusses on an all-round development of its students by providing opportunities for various student activities apart from academics. Few of the activities include:

• ARMAAN, a social initiative started by IMDR students to stay in touch with the society, its reality and humanity

Occupying about a hectare, the institute provides range of world class facilities to its students including classrooms, hostels, sports, library resources & technology to produce an ambience that provides an opportunity for holistic learning to its students.

Hostels

The campus provides around 10 hostels for the Non-Teaching faculty & three for the Teaching staff. The Block 4 of the Gents Hostel of Fergusson College has The IMDR wing which comprises of 17 two-seater rooms allotted to students of IMDR.

IMDR Library

The institute has a vast Library which is an invaluable asset for the students, faculties as well researchers. It has a robust collection of over

Computer Centre

The institute provides an excellent information technology infrastructure to its students.

• A learning facility and a resource room for conducting hands-on training and presentations
• 120 computers with minimum PIV configuration for students
• 2 servers
• Training on frequently used databases & software packages.
• Distinguished Language Lab for language training with the capacity to hold30 students.
• Hands-on training on ERP systems under the SAP University Alliance Programme
• Lab has a 2 MBPS leased line connection for Internet access

The following recreational facilities are available to the students:
