Great Lakes Institute of Management a top flight business school and one of the best institutes in southern states was founded by US based management guru Dr. Bala V Balachandran in 2004.

• Institute offers two full time and many corporate courses and is approved by AICTE. The PGPM Course at Great Lakes is the only One-year management course in India approved by the AICTE.
• In 2011 as part of its plans to expand its presence across India, Great Lakes Institute of Management launched its campus in Gurgaon.
• Great Lakes has a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA, University of Houston, and IIT Madras for academic exchange programs.
• The Yale-Great Lakes Research Center has been established with the objective of pursuing advanced research in management in partnership with Yale University of the USA.
• Accepting GMAT, CAT and XAT scores, this college demands an average of three years of work experience for the admission

Academic Overview: The two full time courses offered by this institute include PGDM and PGPM. These programs are offered in specializations- Finance, Marketing, Operations, IT& Economics, Business Analytics, OB & Strategy.

Social Work: US President and Great Lakers are involved in the noble cause of doing social work in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Lonavala. Around fifty student associates along with the faculty are involved in this type of contribution to the society on a regular basis.

Festivals/Events: Great lakes organizes a lot of programs for its students or the other way round, the students of Great Lakes are very active and organizes many events and festivals for their college.

• L' ATTITUDE 13Ëš05’-  L' Attitude 13Ëš05’ is the annual inter B-School festival of Great Lakes. The festival features a potpourri of events and competitions that encompasses various spheres of management education in the field of marketing, finance, operations, strategy and Human Resources.
• Karma Yoga Annual Convention- This convention was started a year before. This time August 2013, was its second phase. It incorporates a Leadership Experiential Project (LEP).
• Sanghamitra- Sanghamitra is an intra-college cultural and sports event that springs the students a stand to showcase their talents. A range of games –Chess, Throw ball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Kho Kho, Volleyball Badminton, Cricket etc. are there in this event.
