DeshBhagat Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Mandi, also known as DBIHMCT is a very young Institute. Training Kitchens
Training Kitchens are basically classified under three heads:
House Keeping
Being the backbone of Hotel Industry, House Keeping which is responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and aesthetic sense of the Industry is given one of the highest importance in this institute. The Housekeeping lab has 3 guest rooms for training the students.
Bakery and Confectionary Department
This department trains the student in the art of making various types of edibles and assorted confectionaries.
Training Restaurant and Mock Bar
The students get daily routine practices on champagne and cocktails to make them perfect and smoothen out the rough edges such that they come out as perfect professionals. At this institute the students are given regular lessons on cooking with wine, flaming with brandy and rum.
Front Office
The Front Office Laboratory has been set up for conducting mock practical with a view to exposing the students to day-to-day functioning of the Front Office in star hotels. The basic areas in front office are:

An overview of the fee to be paid by the students:
• Students have to pay a fee of 73,500 (INR) which includes the course fee of 69,500 (INR) per annum and examination fee of 4,000 (INR). The fees can be paid in two installments.
• At the time of registration students have to pay 18,000 (INR) towards books, uniform, toolkit and caution money.
• The fee to be paid for the hostel is 27,000 (INR) per annum.
Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious and deserving students. Some of them are:
• National council provides Financial assistanceof up to 20,000 (INR) to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates of each Institute.
• Meritorious students who obtain 1st, 2nd and 3rd position on All India basis in Council’s Annual Examination in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year get merit based scholarship from National Council.
