About College

Biswanath College, a premier college of Assam, was established in 1960 with mission of imparting best education to the pupils so as to prepare them to prove themselves worthy of being recognized as the leading thinkers of the society. Biswanath College is located in the remote corner of Assam and at the foot of Arunachal Pradesh surrounded by Tea Gardens. This college holds a pride among academic institutions of the state particularly in the vast area of northern part of the river Brahmaputra.

• Biswanath college was brought under defict system of grant-in-Aid by the Govt.of Assam in 1963 and the science section was brought under deficit system of grant-in-Aid on 1978

• Biswanath College emerges out to have been a potential education centre for higher education in the state

• Uddipana Goswami, a 1st semester major student of Political science Department got first prize in speech competition in the All Assam Sadananda Chaliha Memorial Speech Competition and Nazibur Rahman Memorial Quiz competition held at Biswanath College in 2011

• Manab Goswami and Pubali Bhuyan 1st semester major student of Chemistry Department got third prize in Quiz Competition in the All Assam Sadananda Chaliha Memorial Speech Competition and Nazibur Rahman Memorial Quiz competition held at Biswanath College in 2011
