In the current scenario, a film/movie is considered an essential part of the mode of entertainment shown in a cinema or on television. Hollywood and Bollywood are the oldest film industry that has produced movies on various subjects including teenage friendship, romance, college life, etc. Whenever you ask someone about their most memorable moment of their lifetime, most of the time you have heard people saying that their college time was memorable as well as the golden era for them. There are many movies that have inspired our young generation of the country, enlighten us and also reminded us the sweet memories of our college time. College life somehow excites all of us whether you are/were preparing for a fun and adventure college life. Three years of college are the most important years of your life where you learn many new things, indulge in all the little pleasures that a carefree life has to offer, enjoy parties, college fests, fall in love, deal with heartbreaks, get accustomed to the new world of fashion, etc. The film industry has given us so many movies based on college life that has given a new definition to the college life.

After completing higher secondary many students get confused about their career about in which direction they should move forward. This movie also narrates the story of a clueless youngster where circumstances lead him to join Indian Army. After which he gets involved with the Kargil incursions by Pakistan into Indian Territory and in the process he finds himself and achieves clarity in his thought processwhich leads him towards the victory of the Indian army. - Rang De Basanti (2006)
Rang De Basanti is an Indian drama movie of 2006 that revolves around 6 young adults who assists an English Woman to film a documentary based on Indian Freedom Fighters. Rang De Basanti which means Paint It Yellow in English, has very cleverly depicted the contribution of our long lost and forgotten Indian Freedom Fighters and also the current problems of the country like corruption and injustice.It was the highest-grossing film in its opening weekend in India and had the highest opening day collections for a Bollywood film. The target audience of the movie was youth with a message to participate in nation making and give direction and aim to the life. It also teaches us that if you need the then become the change, do not just crib over problems faced by a country like corruption, unequal distribution of wealth, population explosion, mob related crime, burgeoning communal tension, infrastructural deficiencies, etc. Do not blame the system or the government or the political/religious leaders instead take responsibility to bring some changes for betterment of yourself as well as society. - The Great Debaters (2007)
Based on true story, The Great Debaters is an American biographical drama film of 2007 and about the efforts made my Melvin B. Tolson (Denzel Washington) form the first debate team at Wiley College to challenge Harvard for the national championship. The Great Debaters movie illustrates the Black community rising above and achieving that level of greatness even in the midst of such a highly racial social context. It also shows the commitment of a teacher towards education and his students, therefore, you should always respect and listen to your teacher as they work hard to give shape to your future.

The movie revolves around a careless rich-kid Sid Mehra who is a college student and is least bothered/concerned for his future. The young spoiled adult met with a girl who inspires him to wake up. It basically shows that when you are unplanned for your future what kind of difficulties you can face in life.Everybody needs that one permanent force in life that makes them realize where they actually belong, so wake up and start exploring because when you really want something all it takes to achieve is your courage. - 3 Idiots (2009)
3 Idiots is an Indian coming of age comedy-drama film loosely adapted from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat in 2009. It is one of the must watch Bollywood movie that has all the elements to which every college student can co-relate like bromance, college romance, strict professor, stress of examination, college placement stress, and of course teaches us the importance of education as well as the way it should be given to students. This movie also tried to make parents understand that one should not pay attention to marks obtained by students instead they should press on new things learned by a student. Always remember that knowledge is of no use if you do not apply it in the real life.Happiness, contentment, recognition and rewards would automatically follow when you will start giving shape to your passion into a profession. - The Social Network (2010)
The Social Network is an American drama movie directed by David Fincher of 2010 based on The Accidental Billionaires book that portrays the founding of social networking website called Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg. 19-year-old Harvard university student Mark Zuckerberg creates a social networking site that later became Facebook who is later sued by the Winklevoss twin brothers for stealing their idea and the co-founder.The movie taught us so many things like think long-term, have signed agreement, business ideas are not protected, money comes and goes but friendships are priceless, you cannot make happy everyone at the same point of time andmoney finds you- when you have a great product but one of my best quote from the movie wasthere are no original ideas. Even the writer of the movie stated that no one knows what exactly happened between Zuckerberg, the Winklevai, and Saverin but the truth is Facebook happened because Zuckerberg had the chops, the confidence, the vision, and the discipline to make it happen. So if you have a big idea, it is better you get busy in making it happen as anyone can idea but executing it matters the most. - F.A.L.T.U (2011)
Faltu which means useless is a Hindi comedy movie directed by Remo Dsouza in 2011. Although the plot of the movie is heavily borrowed from the 2006 Hollywood comedy- Accepted but students who are seeking admission pressure, high cut-offs, etc. can very well relate to the movie. The story revolves around a group of friends who received extremely bad marks in their exams. Due to the peer pressure, the 4 friends create a fake university called Fakirchand and Lakirchand Trust University (F.A.L.T.U) to save themselves from the scolding of their parents as they were turned down by every college. The movie attempts to send this message- to follow your dreams, turn your hobby into a profession and do what you want to do rather than mugging up lessons in classrooms. One of the most striking dialogues from the movie is: Children is never useless, they are just less. Faltu movie very well explains and depicts Education is supposed to be for all-for-all who willing to learn. - Pitch Perfect (2012)
Pitch Perfect is the 2nd highest grossing American music comedy movie of 2012 directed by Jason Moore. The Pitch Perfect movie revolves around the college life of a freshman Beca (Anna Kendrick), who wish to pursue her career as a music producer (DJ, mashup, and remixes) but like every other parent, she is forced to attend college by his father. Her father proposed to pay for her music production fees if she stays in the college for a year and joins a club during that time. The fun and adventure in university began when she joins an all-female a cappella group called the Barden Bellas for a competition. It is fun to watch that how girls of different character and attitude make their way towards the final. The moral of the Pitch Perfect movie is also easy to understand that is- efforts does not betray us. When you fail to reach a goal try a different course but never give up so easily. Another thing the movie teaches us the value of friendship and precious moment spent with them. - Fukrey (2013)
Fukrey means slacker or worthless, is a 2013 Hindi comedy movie directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba that is set in Delhi where 4 boys come together to make easy money. The movie stood out because of its pretty interesting storyline as it dealt with different issues of college life like less pocket money, drive to make some extra cash somehow, urge to impress your girlfriend, and all that jugaads used to get out of a sticky situation. Fukrey movie has all the elements that surely bring a lot of college memories as well as gives an overview of the college life, but it also gives you a lesson that shortcut is not a solution to any kind of problem. Never run from handwork as short-cut may seem as easy way out but there is always a hidden price that comes as payback.
