All campuses of Indian Institute of Management(IIMs) are an autonomous public institution of education management and research of India that is administered by the IIM council. Establishment of IIMs was envisioned and initiated by the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act, the 1st IIM was established in November 1961 at Joka, Kolkata, West Bengal– IIM Calcutta. All IIMs primarily offer Post-Graduate, Executive Education and Doctoral Programmes with some specialized purpose programmes in their college.
IIM Eligibility Criteria
For admission in various programmes of IIMs, you need to clear Common Admission Test (CAT) with minimum 98 Percentile. And for CAT exam you must have a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PWD. Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. And those candidates will be admitted to join the programme provisionally, with a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of the University/Institution. 5. Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L)
Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) is the fourth instalment of the Prestigious IIMs Business School. It was established in 1984 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh with a motto of Better management towards the better nation and serves as the mentor for new IIMs - IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur. It became the 1st IIM institute to have a satellite campus in Noida, Delhi NCR exclusively set up for executive education in 2005. In 2010, to serve the demand of quality managers, Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM-Ranchi) was established in Ranchi, Jharkhandunder the Ministry of Human Resources Development, and government of India. 7. Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (IIM-Kashipur)
To provide quality management education and elite leaders to country, Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (IIM-Kashipur) was established in 2011 in Kahipur, Uttarakhand. 2016-18 batch of students are expected to admit to their new and permanent campus in approximately 200 acres of land in the Escorts Farm area of Kashipurwith in house education loan. 8. Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM-R)
Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM-R) is the 8th installment that was established in November 2009 in Rohtak, Haryana. Mentored by IIM Lucknow in its first year of establishment, it is the 1st IIM to be approved by the Union Cabinet. 11. Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM-S)
With a vision of expansion and mobilization of education and research facilities in North-eastern state of India Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM-S) was formed in 2007 in Shillong, Meghalaya. The institute is set up at the Mayurbhanj Palace, the summer retreat of the Mayurbhanj Kings of Odisha and was founded by Shri. Arjun Singh, Union Minister of Human Resource Development. Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam gave his last speech on Creating a Liveable Planet in IIM Shillong College in 2015. And recently the college paid him tribute by launching the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Lecture Series on his 1st death anniversary.

13. Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM-U)
Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM-U) is one of IIM that was set up by the Central Government of India during its Eleventh Five-Year Plan in 2011 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It currently operates from a temporary campus in Polymer Science Building, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU). And will be relocated to 253 acres (102 ha) of land in Balicha, Udaipur after the completion of construction.

1. Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM-N)
Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM-N) started working in 2015 under the guidance and mentorship of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad with the first batch of Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management. It currently functions from its temporary base in Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology that will move to its own campus in about 3 years in about 200 acres near Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
2. Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIM-V)
Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIM-V)is also known as IIM Vizag started its first batch in August 2015 under the guidance of Indian Institute of Bangalore in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. With two-year full-time residential Post Graduate programme in Management, it started its classes at the Andhra Bank School of Business on Andhra University campus till it moves to its permanent campus in Gambheeram, Vizag.
3. Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM-BG)
Inaugurated by the HRD Minister Smriti Irani on 31st, August 2015, Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM-BG) started its 1st academic session Post Graduation Programme (PGP) in Management in Bodh Gaya, Bihar. After successful mentoring by IIM Ranchi, it is currently guided by IIM Calcutta under 118 acres of Magadh University in Bodh Gaya.
4. Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM-Amritsar)
With the support of the Government of Punjab, Ministry of Human Resources Development established Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM-Amritsar) in 2015 under the guidance of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. IIM Amritsar started its 1st batch of Post Graduate Programme in Management from a temporary base at the campus of Government Polytechnic College. In about 3 years of time, it will move to its permanent campus at Manawala on Amritsar-Jalandhar GT Road.
5. Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur (IIM-Sambalpur)
Established in 2015, Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur (IIM-Sambalpur) currently operates from the temporary campus in Silicon Institute of Technology, Sason, Sambalpur, Odisha with the peaceful environment. With the successful mentorship of IIM Udaipur, it currently works under the guidance of IIM Indore. Permanent campus location was finalized in 2014 at 237 acres of land in Basantpur, Odisha.
6. Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur (IIM-Sirmaur)
Situated In the laps of Himalayas, Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur (IIM-Sirmaur) was established in 2015 with its first batch of Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management. It currently operates from the temporary campus in Himachal Institute of Technology, Near Dental College, Rampur Ghat Road, Paonta Sahib, Distt Sirmaur. With past mentorship of IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur, it currently is being mentored by IIM Lucknow.
