Chandigarh Group of Colleges

Established in 2001, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran was with the strength of 100 students but now it houses over 15000 students and offering 25 technical programs and Professional Courses through 8 colleges. CGC delivered more than 118 batches and had over 17,700 students.

The CGC Landran was established with an aim to deliver quality education by offering world-class facilities, qualified faculties, and best teaching methodologies. It has various moderns’ facilities. It is the only College in North India to have received the NBA accreditation for 5 years in the year 2009. The college has 8 institutes under its aegis. They provide several UG and PG Courses along with diploma courses. It offers over 40+ approved courses. The college is among the top 10 institutes in India in filing patents. The college organizes various cultural and sports events to encourage the students to participate in it.

CGC provides Engineering Courses like B. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering and M. Tech Courses in CSE and ECE. It also has the courses of Management which offer MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Com (Professional), B. Sc (Agriculture) and B.Sc (Fashion Technology).

Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) admission 2020: Courses, Date, Fees, Placements

At present, CGC offers various Professional Courses in the field of Business Management, Engineering, Biotechnology, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Tourism, Animation, and Pharma-Chemistry.

From the official website of CGC, Landran the registration form can be filled online by the candidate as well as offline on payment of INR 1000 as the application fee.

  • For Punjab domicile candidates, B.Tech admission is offered on the basis of a valid Score in JEE Main.
  • On the basis of marks in 12th followed by counselling conducted by PTU for the candidates belonging to other states, the Admission to B.Tech is offered.
  • On the basis of the JEE Main Score or PTU CET, B.Pharm Admission is offered either.
  • Admission to BHMCT, BCA, BBA, B.Tech (LE), B.Sc, and BTTM courses is completely merit-based Followed by PTU Counselling.
  • M.Tech admission is based on GATE score or marks in BE/B. Tech followed by PTU counseling.
  • In Punjab MET and marks in Graduation, MBA Admission is subject to a valid score.
  • On the basis of marks in the last qualifying examination at the PG level, M.Pharm, M.Sc, MCA, and B.Ed admission is offered.

CGC, UG Admission 2020: B.Sc, B.Tech, BHMCT, B.Pharm, BCA, BBA & Pharm.D

At the UG level, CGC offers B.Pharm, B.Tech, BBA, BHMCT, BCA, B.Com, and BTTM courses in various streams in full-time mode along with B.Tech in Lateral Entry mode.

On the basis of JEE Main Score and Marks in the 12th B.Tech Admission is offered followed by PTU counselling to Punjab domicile and other state candidates respectively. For both JEE Main and PTU CET qualified candidates, B.Pharm Admission is open. For other courses, the admission is completely merit-based.

CGC PG Admission 2020: MCA, M.Tech, MBA, M.Sc, M.Pharm & B.Ed

CGC also offers MBA, B.Ed, MCA, M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Pharm, M.Com courses in various disciplines along with Lateral Entry to MCA. For M.Tech, BE/ B.Tech degree is compulsory while a relevant Bachelor’s degree holder can apply for other PG courses.

For admission to M.Tech, GATE qualified candidates are eligible. Apart from GATE, on the basis of marks in BE/ B.Tech, PTU also conducts separate counselling. To secure admission in MBA the candidates have to qualify in Punjab MET.

Admission to other Postgraduate Courses is held on the basis of the merit list drawn with respect to candidates ‘marks in the last qualifying exam.

CGC Registration Process 2020

For all the UG and PG Courses CGC follows a common application process as discussed below: 

Online Mode:

  • Visit the CGC official website and fill the application form.
  • After completely filling the form, a candidate should upload the scanned copies of the required documents along with passport size photograph.
  • The application fee of INR 1000 has to be paid through Credit or Debit card.
  • After online registration, to confirm their admission in the respective colleges, students have to submit all original documents along with the admission letter.

Offline Mode:                                                                  

  • Candidates should also obtain Application forms from the CGC Campus.
  • Candidates have to be submitted Original documents and 5 passport size photographs to the admission counselor.
  • The application fee of INR 1000 can be paid in cash.

Note: For SC/ST students of Punjab there is no fee is charged especially whose family income is less than INR 2.5 Lakh pa.

The submission of application has to be done along with the self-attested copies of the below-mentioned documents:

CGC Scholarships 2020

  • For Minority Communities/SC/ST/ OBC/: For the candidates belonging to reserved categories (from Punjab state only) and minority communities Post metric/ Merit cum means scholarships have been offered by CGC. Financially weak meritorious students should get these scholarships.
  • Centre Government Scholarships: To students with disabilities, CGC offers financial support under this scheme.
  • Jammu & Kashmir Scholarship Scheme: Those who have permanent residence in J&K offers financial support.
  • Saksham Scholarships for differently-abled students: Candidates who have been selected through centralized counseling.
  • Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girls: In the first year of the program this scholarship is available for Girl students.

The CGC scholarship details are as mentioned below.

  • SC or ST candidates of Punjab whose annual family income is less than 2.5 Lakhs can apply for Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST category students.
  • The students belonging to OBC or BC from Punjab whose family income is less than 1.5 Lakhs per annum can avail the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC/BC category students.
  • The students of minority communities whose annual family income is less than 2.5 Lakhs can apply for a scholarship, only for AICTE courses, under the merit cum means scholarship scheme.
  • The students of minority communities whose annual family income is less than 2 Lakhs can apply for a scholarship, only for non-AICTE courses, under the merit cum means scholarship scheme.
  • For the PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for the single girl child, girls who happen to be the only girl child in the family can apply.
  • Candidates with disabilities of at least 40% as certified under Persons with Disabilities Act 1995 can apply for the ‘Students with disabilities scholarship scheme’ provided by the central government.
  • Special Scholarships scheme for Jammu & Kashmir students is provided to permanent residents of J&K who have passed 10+2 from J&K board or CBSA and whose family income is less than 6 Lakhs per annum.
  • For differently-abled students, Saksham Scholarship Scheme can be availed by students whose annual family income is less than 6 Lakhs and who have been admitted through centralized counseling.
  • The students who have secured 60% marks in the previous qualifying exam and whose family income is less than 1.2 Lakhs are eligible to avail the Guru Harkrishan Educational Society Scholarship.
  • The institute also provides scholarships to meritorious and financially weak students.
  • The SC/ST students from Punjab and Haryana, whose family income from all sources is less than 2.5 Lakhs is free from paying fees.
