GURUGRAM UNIVERSITY

Gurugram University is a State University which was established in the year 2017, by Haryana Act 17. It started its first session in the academic year 2018-19. It is recognized by University Grants Commission. The lush green campus of the university is based at Mayfield Garden, Sector 51, Gurugram, Haryana. The University is considered synonymous with excellence in education. The University plans to provide its students with world-class facilities, which will be reviewed from time to time and upgraded if required to cater to the needs of getting a Higher Education. Presently, Dr. Markandey Ahuja is the Vice-Chancellor of the University. The University strives to the highest standard of teaching, learning, research and scholarship as well across different subjects and specializations.

Gurugram University is planning to become one of the most reputed and prestigious universities in the state of Haryana where students from every corner of the nation and every segment of society can come and pursue their studies. The University has commenced its functioning from the newly constructed campus of Rao Tula Ram College of Science and Commerce. It plans to emerge as a Global University in the near future which would offer various programs and courses in different disciplines through the educational faculties.

The student shall be 10+2 passed either from Board of School Education, Haryana or from any other recognized board or equivalent thereto with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology. English shall also be one of the main subjects. In case a student has passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics all subjects then the aggregate of P.C.M or P.C.B whichever will be higher shall be considered.

The Aggregate of minimum marks shall be 47.5% for SC/ST/Divyang students.

The candidate should be the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course.

COLLEGES

Gurugram University is emerging as a prominent university and according to a report of Times of India in February 2019, there are at least 76 government and government-financed colleges which are located in Gurugram and Nuh (Mewat)that will be affiliated to Gurugram University. According to the reports the process of transfer has already been initiated by the Governor of Haryana and soon these colleges would come under Gurugram University.

Currently, these colleges come under Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and it becomes really difficult for the principals of these colleges to run to Rohtak for even minor issues and sanctions. Once these colleges come under Gurugram University it will be much easier for students and teachers to get their work done. It may take almost a year in the transfer procedure. These colleges include RLS College of Education, Sidarwali, Teerthankar KRD College, Jatauli Hailey Mandi, and others.

All the students of these colleges who are studying in the first, second, third-year batches will remain affiliated to Maharishi Dayanand University and students who took admission in the academic year 2019-2020 will be registered with Gurugram University.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The Admission Process differs from course to course. The aspirants shall properly go through the eligibility and admission criteria mentioned by the university before they apply for any course. For some courses, the admission criteria are based on the merits which are obtained in the qualifying examination while for some other courses the admission criteria depend upon Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Applicants shall carefully choose their choice of course and apply before the deadline.
