Panjab University

Established in 1882, this influential university is located in the capital city of Chandigarh, Punjab is acclaimed among all is Panjab University (PU). Panjab University is approved by the AICTE, UGC, and NAAC with ‘A’ grade. In 2018, according to the US News Ranking, the University of Panjab has been ranked No.2 and ranked 7th in India for 2017 Institutional Swachhata Ranking. PU offers various UG, Integrated, PG, Executive, Diploma, PG Diploma, Certificate, and Research Level courses. Admission to certain courses is based on Entrance Exams conducted by the University, whereas for some courses the college accepts the score of competitive national level examinations like JEE Main, NEET MDS, GATE and more.

Panjab University Admissions 2020

Candidates seeking Admission in the University will require filling online admission form with duly filled-in necessary details. Those fulfilling the basic eligibility criteria of a particular course are eligible to apply. However, final admission will only be given on the basis of entrance test conducted by Panjab University or scores of competitive examinations.

Reservations

53.5% of the seats in each course are reserved for General Category and 46.5% seats are reserved for the categories are given below:

  • 15% for candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes
  • There is 7.5% reservation for Scheduled Tribes category
  • 5% for candidates belonging to the Backward Classes

Apart from these, 5% of the seats are reserved for PwD candidates, 5% for sports category, and 5% for candidates belonging to Defence.

International Students Admission

Foreign or NRI students seeking admission in any of the courses being offered by the University must have the basic qualification as required. They will be required to produce the scores of the following tests to take admission:

To take admission in B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed (Physical Education), a candidate will be required to undergo a mandatory Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Panjab University Admission 2020 The willing applicants can enrol for the Panjab University 2020 admission for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in the first and the last week of April respectively. The enrollment process for PUCET UG and PUCET PG 2020 will be initiated with the official notification given by the Panjab University 2020 Admission authority. Interested candidates to get admission in Panjab University 2020 must make sure to register online and fill the Panjab University admission form. Candidates can fill the Panjab University 2020 UG and PG Courses Admission Form till the month of April and May respectively as the process will be on till May. In the month of April, the conducting body of PUCET 2020 will released the admit card. Schedule is different for for both PUCET UG and PUCET PG, due to which, applicants are advised to go through the important dates provided below in the article.

Panjab University Admission Form 2020

Panjab University release the different dates for application form for both UG and PG programmes. In the first week of April, the PUCET UG 2020 application form will be released while that of PUCET PG 2020 Admission Forms will be released in the last week of April. Candidates will get the Panjab University application form online as they will released it  in online mode only. Applicants those who applying for PUCET UG Programme must complete the Panjab University 2020 application form till the 3rd week of Apr, while those applying for PU CET PG Programme must complete it till the 3rd week of May 2020.

Before filling the application form, the willing applicant must make sure that they keep the following documents with them. It must be marked that the documents should not be fabricated or furnished in any way since it will lead to the candidates losing their chance of admission.

Admission in USOL Punjab is done through online mode. Candidates need to check the dates of Admission from USOL website.

  • The first thing to do is to Register yourself On-line and by using ‘New Candidate Registration’ create your valid Login ID and Password.
  • Keep carefully your Login ID and Password details. (Don’t share these details with anyone)
  • To fill the application form online itself, log in by using your registered Login ID. (before submission of form, read all the instructions carefully).
  • As per the requirement of the application form, upload the scanned copies of required documents (eg. photograph, signatures etc.). Photo and signatures should be in JPEG format. Rest of the documents should be in PDF format (max. 02MB).
  • The fees of Admission Form can be paid only by using Credit Card / Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Post office Challan/ SBI Challan

  • Personal Contact Program is introduced by USOL to make the learning easy.
  • Response sheets are given to students for practice.
  • Dissertations/ Projects in selected courses, Video and Audio- cassette Lessons on selected topics, and Counseling of students will be held on a one to one basis, organizing Regional and National Seminars and Special Lecture Series. To cater to the masses, for most courses, the printed study material is provided in Hindi, English and Punjabi.
  • An Educational Media Centre, Well -equipped Library, Laboratories, a Computer Lab, postal library facilities,and subsidized hostel facility for outstation students
  • The students will also involve in co-curricular activities by the USOL and brings candidates together on a common platform despite their diverse locations.
  • The USOL has established a small Computer Lab with 10 Computers to facilitate lesson production as computers are becoming an integral part of the education process.

    In terms of placements NITK 2013 15 batch out of 26, 20 got placed and remaining 6 were refused to take job comapnies like Robert Bosch, Practo, Oracle, Infiniti Research, Quest Global, Capital via, Axis Bank, Tonguestun, TCS, Mindtree, Metal and Future First average package offer by these companies were 4.5 lacs, highest package was 8.5 lacs and lowest package was 4 lacs.
