LPUNEST Exam Overview

LPU (Lovely Professional University) conducts National Entrance and Scholarship Test called LPUNEST for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Every year over 3 lakh aspirants apply for this entrance examination. LPUNEST conducts in online mode. For the various M.B.A. and Ph.D. courses, the LPU (Lovely Professional University) conducts Interview and/or Group Discussion rounds for evaluation of the candidates.

LPU (Lovely Professional University) gives 5% relaxation in eligibility criteria to North-East applicants. Applicants with qualified UGC (NET/JRF) / CSIR / (NET/JRF) / ICAR (JRF/SRF) / SLET / GATE / GPAT/ holds Teacher Fellowship or passed M.Phil  program are exempted from LPUNEST.

LPU (Lovely Professional University) offers the huge range of B.Tech courses with a wide variety of specializations including B.Tech., B.Tech. (H), Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech. as well as Integrated B.Tech+M.B.A. courses with a number of specialization subjects.

Admission to all these courses has been done through LPUNEST (LPU National Entrance and Scholarship Test) conducted by the LPU (Lovely Professional University). LPUNEST will be way to enter aspirants to all engg. Prog. in LPU (Lovely Professional University) and will act as an Entrance test for admission in Engg. Prog. at LPU. Candidates with a min. of 60% in 12^th or equivalent I Phy., Maths and Eng. are eligible for appearing in LPUNEST.

To take admission in the postgraduate programmes, a candidate needs to sit for LPUNEST which is followed by the Interview and Group Discussion rounds. The one who has 80 percentile in CAT / MAT / XAT or having 15,000 or below rank in CMAT or 600 marks in GMAT are exempted from appearing for LPUNEST.

LPU (Lovely Professional University) Ph.D. Admission

LPU (Lovely Professional University) offers the Ph.D. degree in 52 different fields of research. These courses are offered both as full-time and part-time courses. The final selection is done on the basis of performance in Interview subject to scoring minimum marks. Candidates can apply for Ph.D. (Spring Term) admissions through online mode only.

• For registering online, candidates need to fill the application form at the official website and pay an application fee online.
• Applicant who are registering offline for LPUNEST need to take LPUNEST Kit from University Campus / Camp Offices by making the payment of cash INR 500/- or by providing DD of the same amount drawn in favour of “Lovely Professional University” payable at Jalandhar.

For Distance Education courses:

• Candidates can purchase the prospectus from the Admission Dept. at the university.
• The applicant should submit the necessary documents, both self-attested and attested by competent authority (i.e. a Gazetted Officer or Notary or any other appropriate authority as prescribed by the university) with seal.

Application Process for Applying through scores of National Level Exams

Candidates applying through the scores the National level exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, LSAT, CLAT, JEE (Main), NATA need to first visit the website of the respective National Level Exam and fill the exam form.

Once the form is filled, the candidates need to visit the official website of LPU and fill in the University’s application form.

International Student Admissions

LPU offers admission to International students in various courses. Candidates must note that it is mandatory to have passed English course in class 10th or higher examination or English should have been the instruction of language in his/her education. In case the candidate does not into any of the above mentioned brackets, he/she have to provide one of the following proof of English language Proficiency: IELTS Band of 5.5/ TOEFL (ICBT) score of 70 or equivalent in any of the TOEFL format or will have to clear LPU's English Language Proficiency Test.

Candidates interested in applying to the University must fill in the online application form and submit the fee. The processing fee is Rs 2,000 or USD 100 which needs to be deposited along with “Application Form for Admission with advanced standing (Migration from other University / Institute)”.
