VIT University organizes its own national entrance exam called Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE, pronounced as witty). This VITEEE Exam is organized to offer the admissions to the meritorious candidates in various B.Tech programmes. VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) Entrance Exam is held in online mode.

VITEEE Exam Pattern - VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) Entrance Exam is held once in a year in a computer based mode. This two and a half hour test has overall 125 questions asked from the subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English. There is no negative marking in the VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) Entrance Exam

Eligibility Criteria of VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology)

The basic eligibility criteria to appear for VIT Entrance Exam 2018 are as follows:

• A candidate must be passed 12^th or equivalent.
• According to the VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) norms, the one who pursuing class 12 are also able to apply for VITEEE Exam.
• A claimant should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Math/Biology in class 12^th for general category, for SC/ST & North Eastern State candidates it should be 50%.
• NRI candidates are also eligible to apply for VITEEE. PIO and OCI holder are also eligible to apply for VITEEE-2018.
• To appear for the VIT Exam, the age should be 22 as on or after 1st July.
  

Vellore B.Tech Admission Procedure

Step 1: VITEEE Application form is issued from December to February every year. The Advertisement regarding the issue of Application forms shows on VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) official page and all leading news papers.

Step 2: VITEEE form is available on both online and offline mode:

• Online mode applications available on VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) website
• Offl­ine mode applications available in selected post offices
  

Step 3: It is advised to all the candidates that carefully read all the Eligibility criteria before filling the application form (60% in PCM/PCB put together in +2)

• Fill the application form on or before the specified date
• You can also check the status of application on the VIT website
  

Step 4: Attend the VITEEE 2018 mock test to get an orientation about the Computer Based Test.

Step 5: Now it’s time to book the slot by selecting convenient date and time to attend the VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) Engineering Entrance Examination and download your e-Admit Card

Step 6: Attend VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) Exam on the selected date in the respective test center

Step 7: Declaration of results on last week of April

VITEEE cut off depends on a number of factors such as the number of students who appeared for VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) Entrance Exam, availability of total seats, level of difficulty of test and average performance given by the students. Cutoff for all the campuses will be released separately, based on the availability of seats in the form of opening and closing ranks or admission to various courses in engineering.

Admission will be granted on the basis of rank list. This rank list is prepared on the basis of a candidate’s percentile. Phase I counselling is for top merit (from 1 to 20,000).

BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)

B.Tech.Computer Science & Engineering

The Computer Science and Engineering program is a unique blend of hardware and software, allowing students to gain knowledge about the concepts that enable many of today’s fundamental technologies, including Wireless Communication and the IOT i.e Internet of Things. In this course, student study subjects software engineering, database management system, computer networks, operating systems and computer architecture with fundamentals in electrical engineering including digital logic design and embedded systems.

After completing B.Tech from VIT, a student can either go for higher studies or can work in  various sectors including public and private as programmers, software developers, system analysts, data analysts, web designers, software and system engineers, mobile application developers, website developers, etc to fname a few. B.Tech. CSE (Specialisation in NETWORKING & SECURITY)

The Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Network Security offered by VIT (Vellore Institute of technology) is to meet the demands of security aspects of computer networks having critical business needs.
