NIFT Exam Process
Candidates who secure the good percentile in NIFT Exam shall be eligible for the selection process. The selection procedure of NIFT Exam is as follows
NIFT Exam Pattern: In order to secure admissions at NIFT, candidates will have to appear for two different written/online objective type tests which are called General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT).

CAT test is checked the innovation in development of a concept, intuition skill, power of observation, design ability and the use of color of the candidate
Candidates seeking admissions in BDes and MDes programs at NIFT need to appear for GAT. This test comprises of the below mentioned sections
The duration of GAT is 120 minutes and the language of this written test is English. While formulating the merit list for BDes and MDes course admissions 30% weighatge is allotted to GAT section of NIFT entrance exam.

Shortlisted candidates of written test appear for the Situation Test which tested the material handling and innovative ability of the candidate.
Candidates who have been shortlisted for Masters Programs on the basis of their written entrance examination need to undergo Case Study based Group Discussions (GD) and NIFT Personal Interview round. In the NIFT Exam admissions Group Discussion round candidates will be further shortlisted on the below mentioned basis
