Overview
Goa Common Entrance Test which is commonly known as GCET Exam is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa State (DTE Goa). Through GCET Exam, aspiring candidates got admission to the professional degree courses like Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing and other allied courses including BPT, BOT, BOpt, BSc. MIT, BSc. AT, BSc Nursing, offered by colleges located in Goa.
Apart from that, the admissions to Architecture degree course will be held on the basis of NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).
The reservation criteria of GCET Exam will be as per the guideline issued by the Government of Goa. Under GCET Exam reservation criteria, there are certain categories like SC, ST and PH for whom a certain percentage of the total seats will be reserved. These reserved seats will be available only to candidates belonging to that particular category. However, to avail the benefits of GCET Exam reservation criteria, the candidate needs to mention his/her category at the time of filling the application form along with the necessary supporting documents. The candidate will also be required to submit original documents at the time of counseling during the document verification process.
