The candidates who are willing to get admission in B.Tech courses through CENTAC Exam will have to fulfill certain conditions and requirements to be eligible for the examination. The following eligibility criteria of CENTAC Exam will have to be met by the candidates to participate in the admission procedure.

Eligibility Criteria of CENTAC Exam

Nationality: The nationality of the candidate should be Indian. However, the citizen of French those are residing in Puducherry and comes under the Treaty of Cession will also be eligible to participate in CENTAC Exam.

Age: The maximum age of the candidate as on 1^stJuly of the year of examination should be 21 years. There is a relaxation of 3 years will be given to the candidates belongs to SC category.

Educational Qualification: For CENTAC Exam admissions, the candidates should have qualified 12^th from Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination. An aggregate of minimum 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC candidates) should have been secured in Mathematics, Physics or any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry/ BioTechnology/Computer Science/Biology (Botany and Zoology).

Selection Criteria: Candidates belonging to the Union Territory of Puducherry will be allotted seats based on their performance in 12^th standard (or equivalent) examination. CENTAC Exam admissions to the candidates from other states and Union Territories will be done based on their JEE Main scores of the year of the examination.

Attempts at Qualifying Examination: The candidates can appear for the qualifying examination maximum two times. Scheduled Caste category candidates will be allowed to appear for the qualifying examination maximum three times.
