Eligibility for CAT Exam

To fulfill the eligibility criteria of CAT Exam the candidate must accomplish the below mention criteria.

 An aspirant for CAT Exam must have a graduate degree in any stream with minimum 50% marks (For General & OBC) and 45 % (For SC, ST, PWD/DA).

• Candidates who are in final year/ final semester of their bachelor’s degree can also apply for the CAT Exam.
• The candidates who are from the Universities affiliated by the central or state government of India, the other educational institutes established by an act of Parliament, deemed universities come under the section 3 of 1956 UGC Act, or acknowledged by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India are also eligible to appear in this prestigious CAT Exam.

Eligibility Verification

 IIMs verify all the details provided by the candidate in the Application Form. The Candidate who has shortlisted for the Personal Interview of CAT Exam by an IIM will go through the following CAT Exam Eligibility Verification.

 Mark sheets and Degree Certificate – The candidate must show all their original mark sheets of all the semesters and degree certificates with their attested copies at the time of interview and submit at the time of joining of the program.

 Reservation Category Requirement – The short-listed candidates must show their relevant certificates related to caste, class, and Disability and submit a photocopy at the time of interview. Further, if a candidate is selected for a program, the original certificate of qualifying degree and attested copy of the same must be submitted for verification at the time of joining a program.  

 For Final Year Graduates – The candidates who pursuing their final year of graduation must show an original certificate approved by the official body of the College or University like Principal, Director, and Dean and certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks (General or OBC) and (45% for SC, ST, and DA category). The candidate must submit an attested copy of the original certificate at the time of interview. 

 The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is until 31^st December. In case of non-fulfillment, the admission will automatically be canceled.
