The Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) is a compulsory exam held towards the end of every year for MBBS graduates from foreign universities. This exam is essentially to evaluate whether the candidate is eligible to practice medicine in India. With the new rules regarding NEET kicking in, aspirants who want to study medicine abroad will also have to clear NEET exam to get NOC from MCI. Without NOC, no foreign university will accept an Indian student's application.
