About College

Acharya Narendra Dev College was established in 1991 by the then Prime Minister, Shri Chandra Shekhar with provisions for offering two courses, B.Com Honours and B.Sc General. It holds the credit for being the only college under the University of Delhi to offer degree courses mainly for science. Despite being a relatively young college, it was one of the top ten colleges in science according to a survey by India Today in 2010. It derives its name from Acharya Narendra Dev who is considered to be one of the greatest reformists and educationists of the modern era. Acharya Narendra Dev College encourages intellectual curiosity and critical thinking amongst its students by providing different opportunities to get involved in different research projects funded by grants from DST, DBT, and CSIR.

• Unique teaching pedagogy: Acharya Narendra Dev College believes in the complete development of the personality of its students by giving them equal opportunities for participating in a wide range of extracurricular activities.
• Establishment of IEDC: Acharya Narendra Dev College has also developed a special Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Its aim is to promote and boost young entrepreneurs by creating self-employment opportunities and turn them into job-generators from job-seekers.
• Renowned faculty: Dr. Satyapal Singh, the physical education instructor of the college was the youngest receiver of the prestigious Dronacharya Award in 2012 from the Govt of India. Most of its faculty members have received cash prizes and awards from the Govt of Delhi, University of Delhi, etc.
