About College

Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad is one of the best engineering colleges in India which was established in the year 1960. The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and approved by AICTE. The college offers Engineering programmes at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. The college also offers Masters in Computer Applications (MCA), part-time and full-time M.E. programs, and PhD degrees

• The college became an Autonomous Institute of Government of Maharashtra since 2006
• The admissions to the college are governed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE)
• The college has also got the TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) grant
• The college has signed a MoU with Tata Consultancy Services which involves running training programs and co-operation between company and college
• The college is located near the Aurangabad Divisional Board of Higher Secondary Education (SSC),The college is 2 km away from the Aurangabad Railway Station; 3 km away from the central bus stand; and 9 km away from the Chikalthana Airport

Extra-Curricular:

• Testing and consultancy services are provided related to: Environmental survey and investigations, environmental impact assessment, analysis,design, estimation and preparation of drawings for regional water supply schemes etc are organized by Civil Engineering department
• Teachers Day, Seminar On Women’s Health, Workshop on Self Defence Industrial Motivational Campaign are organized by Electrical Engineering department
• Students have been encouraged to send the technical papers to the student conferences / competitions and the department faculty has been providing necessary guidance
• Visits for students to various construction and project sites as well as research laboratories / organizations are arranged so as to give them exposure to the site-operations and research projects

Laboratory:

• Mechanical Lab- It consists of 3088.65 sq. ft total built-up area with 80 computers
• Multimedia Lab- It consists of 16 computers with RDBM, Linux & C software
• Programming and Fundamental Lab- It consists  of 42 computers with C, C++, JAVA .net software
• IT Project Lab- It consists of 18 computers with C, C++, JAVA .net software

Ranking:

• The college has been ranked No. 1 all over India in the TEQIP survey for academics in engineering colleges in 2009-10
• The college has been  ranked No 1 college for cse in year 2013
