About College

The T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) was founded by the visionary, Late Shri. T. A. Pai in 1980. It is a leading private business school in India located in the university town of Manipal near the temple town of Udupi in Karnataka.

 The first batch of 2 year fully residential PGDM Program commenced in the year 1984-85 with a batch size of 48 and since then it has received recognition and respect amongst the well-known industrial houses and academic institutions in India for the quality of its education.

•  It is the second B-School in India to get global accreditation to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) after Indian School of Business
• CRISIL graded TAPMI as A*** B-School both at national and Karnataka State levels for three consecutive years
• TAPMI has signed an MoU on academic collaboration with School Of Management, Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok and Sheffield Hallam University, UK for student and faculty exchanges
• TAPMI shifted to a new campus and spacious premises in January 2009. Its campus is spread over 42 acres and is situated about 5 km. from Manipal
• TAPMI currently offers two AICTE approved full time 2 year Postgraduate Diploma programs in Management and it has recently started a Postgraduate program in Banking & Financial Services. 

Academic Overview: TAPMI offers a wide range of programs in Management Education. These programs are- Post Graduate Diploma in Management [PGDM], PGDM- Healthcare Management, PhD, TAPMI-University of Dubai MBA program and executive education. Offering wide variety of programs the college keenly promotes the creation and the learning of intellectual capital through many Centers that contain the participation of both faculty and students. These centers include:

• Centre for Research in Banking and Finances: The Centre is devoted for promoting high-quality research in fiscal economics, development of new teaching materials and creation of fresh data sets in the area of finance for the school's MBA, Executive Education and Doctoral programs. It specializes in the study of Corporate Finance, financial institutes and Capital Markets.
• IBOSRC- TAPMI established the India Blue Ocean Strategy Research Centre (IBOSRC) in association with BOS, Malaysia in 2010. TAPMI is the 1st institution in India to have a Blue Ocean Research centre. Blue Ocean Strategy is a systematic method that deviates the frames of reference from competitive policy to making competition irrelevant.
• Indian Culture Heritage and Management centre: TAPMI’s Centre for Heritage, Indian Culture and Management was established in 2009 to promote education on Indian Ethos in management.
• E-Governance Research and Education: This is the research education centre which promotes all the research functioning needed in and outside the institute.

• Update - Annual magazine every year released at the Convocation with a comprehensive report on all the activities and achievements of the Institute.
